I am very excited to share Social Savvy Success…Tools and Resources for you to Build Your Brand, Enhance your Business or Career so you can be Socially Savvy! 

I found over the years in creating NICE – The National Institute for Career Empowerment® that I needed a power strategy to help me build my online brand so I turned to social media…the ultimate connector and equalizer.  I saw a need for colleges and universities,  small business owners, entrepreneurs and professionals to utilize the power of social media to help grow their following and promote their brands and unique promise of value. 

Going social was very organic for me because it allowed me to merge my love for connecting and socializing with others with my fascination for social media and personal branding.  Gadget Girl gone Socially Savvy meets Social Media equals Social Savvy Sarah for Social Savvy Success! 

I must confess, I was a little fearful…. VERY fearful of social media initially and I resisted it as long as I could.  I then remember a dear friend of mine Kristi Olsen sharing with me that sometimes the things we most resist are the things we need to embrace to make us successful.  I knew in my heart that social media was a tool I had to embrace and learn as much as I could to become successful in my career and be able to empower others to do the same.  

I quickly discovered that many people feel the same way I did about social media and did not know where to start in building their online presence and personal brand.  Social media is all about being social and building relationships.  That means talking and sharing with people the way you do face-to-face. I had a Facebook page for two years before I really understood what to do with it. I had all of my profiles on Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube but like most others, did not have them optimized so they just sat around as well.  Then I learned that the same power of connecting I enjoyed face-to-face was even more powerful online through the viral tool of social media.  I learned within my connections and relationships there were abundant opportunities to grow and nurture my brand.
