When uploading a profile picture in LinkedIn, you have to keep in mind that the picture should be professional in nature. I urge you not to use pictures that are not professional looking. LinkedIn is not the same as Facebook and Twitter where you can just post random pictures of yourself. You have to remember that you are building a professional career and people on LinkedIn are professionals with a purpose.

In the summary section of LinkedIn, it is advisable to not put generic information about yourself. You have to use captivating facts about yourself. Advertise yourself just like you are advertising a certain product. You are in LinkedIn to attract people. These people might turn out to be your future clients or employers that is why they want to know you professionally and personally.

Also, don’t forget to ask for LinkedIn recommendations and endorsements  from your connections. You can ask from your business affiliates, boss, customers, and co-workers. Savvy LinkedIn users will highly consider the recommendations. The recommendations will help them decide if you are fit for their purpose. Trust me, having plenty of recommendations will surely open doors of opportunities!
